Inspire (Part 2/3)

Inspire.

Now that's a word, isn't it?

Let's start with the textbook definition for what 'inspire' even means. If we were to type that in and read the first result that popped up, it would go something like this:

inspire - verb - 1. fill (someone) with the urge or ability to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.

2. breathe in (air); inhale.

That's...a pretty strong definition. But what does that have to do with Self Made Club...or you...or even me writing this? What role does the word 'inspire' play in any of our lives? It's a cool word, right?

Then again, it's more than just a word. It's like, the lifeblood of creativity. Inspiration. Air. Breathing it in. To fill our souls with the urge to do or feel something.

Here's a question for you...and when I pose this question, I want you to think about it for a few seconds.

What inspires you?

The beauty of this question, posed in such a simple way, is that it can literally be anything. In a world so vast and incomprehensible, we can siphon inspiration from anywhere, anything, anyone. Were you inspired by a street performer on a crowded city sidewalk? A YouTuber who took their following from 200 to 2 Million? Maybe you saw an Instagram Influencer - an athlete - that overcame all odds to place in the Olympics. Or a writer who took their innermost thoughts and feelings and translated that into a beautiful mosaic that is timeless, perfect.

Inspire.

It's a feeling that burns so strongly, so passionately, that nothing can stand in its way. Not the weight of the world. Not the strength of the winds. Nothing at all. When you're inspired, the sky opens up, the waves recede, and everything that you once thought to be true about the Universe is proven to be false. A new horizon becomes your destination.

It's a crescendo of the soul. A convergence of your heart and mind, coalescing into one ironclad will to make it happen. Your thoughts, your dreams, your life goals.

There are so many distractions in the modern age. Many of these platforms fill a void: our boredom. But one thing is certain. We can focus to make a change in the world. We can overcome the obstacles that stand in our way, impeding our progress. Our goals are attainable. They are possible.

It's not an easy road. The 'Road Less Traveled' was penned for a reason; because it's true. If you want to get somewhere in life and bring your vision into existence, then you're going to have to do something that hasn't been done before.

You'll have to acquire new skills. Learn to do things on your own. Become the individual that you always knew you could be.

The hero of your own story.

Inspiration comes in many forms. It's what drives us as human beings. Fuels our growth. Powers our resolve. Think back on these words and this post. Internalize all that you've learned thus far.

Become inspired.
